My Daily Journal
Keeping a daily journal on the highlights of our day can be priceless. Fifteen minutes a day is all it takes. But, who has an extra fifteen minutes a day to do another task? The answer is, we all do. We just need to manage our time a little bit better. The power of keeping a journal is that it allows us to see where we have been and how far we have come and what adjustments do we need to make. It allows us to see how our so-called life or death challenge we may have gone through may not have been all that bad after all, we survived. A journal allows us to chronicle our own life. We can record the highs, the lows, the challenges, the accomplishments, and most of all, the things that were most important to us. A journal can leave an excellent legacy to our family members for generations to come. Some of America’s most successful people have chronicled their lives, including - Benjamin Franklin. As Franklin penned in his journal – “If you would not be forgotten, as soon as you are dead and rotten, either write the things worth reading, or do things worth the writing.”

My Daily Journal Example

January 4, 2001: I got up at 5:45 a.m. I took an early aerobics class. I had two excellent sales appointments at work and developed one new customer. The family all had dinner together for a change. My number one challenge is still trying to find out a way to come up with the extra $20,000 needed to finance the purchase of our first home. I put down on paper my new business idea that I would like to start within the next two years which is a new way to...
