Excuses, Im Too...

It's never too late to try...

How many of us have allowed an excuse to hold us back from chasing after our dreams? We probably all have at sometime or another in our life. Another name for an excuse is fear. Our fear of failure, rejection, success and embarassment can sometimes paralyze us before we even get up to bat. Without even getting into the batters box, we can never attempt to take a swing, let alone hit a home run. We’ve probably all said one or more of these during our lifetime: ...I’m too old, too young, too poor, I don’t have my degree, but I’ve got a wife and kids to support, I’m too tired, I don’t have the time, I don’t have the money, I’ll do it later, I’ll do it next year, and lastly, I’ll do it when I get around to it. Excuses can be conquered, one day at a time, by taking slow gradual steps to overcome them. The best way to conquer our excuses, is to find someone who has overcome challenges similar to our excuses and study and implement how they were able to overcome them.

Some Possible Questions You May Ask?

1. How can I best overcome my main excuse?
2. Who has overcome this type of excuse before?
3. How can I find out more information on how they overcame the excuse?
4. How can I start to win gradually against the small excuses?
5. Can I list my excuses in order of priority?
6. Is this my excuse or that of someone else?
7. How will I feel if I conquer this excuse?
8. How will I reward myself when I conquer my excuse?
9. Is this excuse only limited by the way I think about it, in my mind?
10. Who else can I talk to that might help support me in my change for the positive?
11. How might I better spend my time by not focusing on the excuse?
12. How can I focus on the solution and not the problem?

Excuse Busters

Too old... Colonel Harland Sanders founded Kentucky Fried Chicken after age 65.
No money... Sam and Helen Walton put up their house at 43 to finance the first Wal-Mart
Too much rejection... Chicken Soup For The Soul was rejected by over 33 publishers.
No college degree... Either did Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, or Henry Ford
No one has every done that before... Walt Disney, George Lucas, Oprah Winfrey
But they fired me... Along with Lee Iacocca, Art Linkletter, and maybe, even yourself
They did not wait for things to get better, they got better and took daily action which earned them their own American Dream.
