Priorities For The Day |
|||||
| In the early 1900s, a gentleman approached Charles Schwab, then President of the largest steel company in the world, United States Steel with an idea. He met with Mr. Schwab and offered him the advice for him to list his top six priorities for the next day and number them from one to six on a sheet of paper. Next to them, he asked him to prioritize them from top to bottom, with one being the most important on down. He was asked to do this each day. The items that were not completed were to be carried over to the next day. He asked Mr. Schwab to try it for 30 days and then to write him a check for whatever amount he felt this idea was worth to him. Mr. Schwab cut him a check for a whopping $25,000 which is probably equivalent to over $250,000 today. Not bad for one idea. Try listing your top six priorities for the day the night before for the next 30 days. Youll be amazed at how much more you can accomplish if youll stick to this simple plan. It is so easy to do, yet it is also so easy not to follow through on. The choice is 100% yours. Top Six Priorities Example 1.
