The name Xian, pronounced Sy-Ann, is as beautiful, unique and harmonious as the woman behind it. This passionate and inspiring singer has always followed her heart. This has led her through some remarkable journeys covering dozens of exotic locations around the globe.

"I adore all kinds of music, from opera, house and bass, alternative, foreign composers, to the classics. As a child I would enjoy listening to Linda Ronstadt and Barbra Streisand. I would sing along with their recordings for hours in my room to develop my voice. I would feel from a very young age that music and voice were my bliss."

Xian graduated magna cum laude from college and then moved to Tokyo, Japan. She was only twenty-three years old.

"I've always known I would be in Japan form the time I was nine years old. When I moved there, I could not speak the language. I studied very hard and practiced by myself with a stack of Japanese language books learning the language within three months. I was then presented with the opportunity to audition for the TDK spring campaign series of television commercials. Only world famous artists like Stevie Wonder had previously represented TDK. I went in and auditioned giving it everything I had and was selected on the spot." Xian quickly had become something of a celebrity and went on to compose, sing and produce over 500 television commercials, along with countless video and film scores, and television theme songs.

She also taught voice in Japanese while in Tokyo, combining classical methods with holistic techniques, such as meditation, chanting, and visualization. "I held great respect and admiration for my students as I witnessed their transformations into more conscious, confident and aware beings."

Xian then embarked on a tour with Buddhist Monks. "I was the only Western woman to ever set foot in a few of these temples, and sang in Sanskrit and English. The combination of synthesized music, Sanskrit lyrics and the monks chants in these beautiful golden temples was like being in a sacred timeless wonderland."

Few in the audience had seen blonde hair and light skin. From the gathering, small children came up and snuggled with Xian on stage as she sang from the heart. The two cultures began to relax and blended as one in harmony. It was truly magical.

Xian's latest CD, Love, Sex, God/Free (coming soon) combines the beautiful melodies and cultural uniqueness from six distinct languages. "We have English, Sanskirt, Pali, (supposed to be the original language of the earth), Italian, Japanese, and Chinese. One of the special songs is Istajanah Paradiso Ai. Istajanah in Sanskrit is beloved and Paradiso in Italian is heaven and Ai is love in Japanese and Chinese."

Xian has also composed four upbeat and inspiring songs especially for dreamers on her American Dream CD. They include: American Dream, American Dream "Remix", Interact America and Success Invasion.

Her beautiful songs are certain to inspire and motivate people of all cultures to go after their dreams. Xian shares with us, "Music is a powerful motivational force. If the music I've recorded can inspire others to a higher quality of life, I would feel very, very happy."
